Meet the Owner
Kristen (Ditman) Zihmer, Owner and Founder of Windchimes LLC, is passionate about working alongside seniors and their families to help navigate their next steps. Her compassion and kind heart, coupled with all-encompassing knowledge of the Senior Healthcare/Retirement Industry, solidifies Kristen as a trusted resource for older adults in the greater community.
Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury University. She is a nationally recognized Certified Senior Advisor and holds a Senior Living Counselor Certificate (as designated by Argentum—the leading national trade association serving senior living communities in the United States). To further widen her scope of expertise within the advancing field, Kristen received her Certificate on Aging from Johns Hopkins University.
Kristen is a highly successful Senior Living professional who understands the difficulties and challenges that face seniors and their families while investigating and understanding potential choices. Along with the hundreds of families that she has worked with during her career, Kristen has facilitated moves for both sets of her own grandparents—one into a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and the other into a rental assisted living community.
Her history includes working with independent and assisted living communities, specialized Alzheimer’s and dementia neighborhoods, post-surgical rehabilitation, long term care centers, and hospice. Kristen’s fifteen years of experience has provided her with intimate knowledge of the specific services organizations provide, how they differ from other organizations, and solutions they bring to seniors and their families.
With the exception of college, Kristen has lived her entire life in Carroll County, and her family has been in the area since the1800’s. She lives in Westminster with her husband and two beautiful children.
